Please join us on Tuesday, March 14 for a field trip to the Lincoln Emergency Services Center in downtown Lincoln.
The Lincoln Emergency Services Center is responsible for taking all emergency calls for citizens in the Lincoln and Lancaster County area. The center is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days per year with 911 Professionals who coordinate with local police, fire, and emergency responders to save lives and protect the safety of every person in the community. This tour of the Center will help bring some perspective on what happens when you make a call to 911 and will put a face to those Professionals who are entrusted with handling highly sensitive information on a daily basis.
PLEASE NOTE that due to the sensitive nature of the Emergency Services Center and the information that the 911 Professionals are handling, it is expected that visitors are cognizant of the dispatchers work and that we respect what we are witnessing in the Center and we keep noise to a minimum. Photographs and recordings of this event will not be allowed once we enter the Center.
The 911 Professionals at the Center are looking forward to our questions and hope that we'll think of other questions based on what we experience.
Tour group sizes will be limited to 8-10 persons, and we'll split into smaller groups once we arrive at the Center and receive our tour orientation.
This field trip is an exciting opportunity for our members to experience a seldom seen, yet extremely vital piece of community infrastructure, so we are looking forward to having you join us for a wonderful learning experience!
Please join us inside the lobby of the Justice and Law Enforcement Center at 575 S 10th Street just before your group's start time. Note that you will have to pass through security to enter the Center.
